Celestial Shaman Drum Birthed!

My drum is born!

This was a really cool weekend of work.

I travelled to Arizona and reconnected with my grandmother in January 2024. I had an idea that I needed a drum. I talked to her about it and her response..."You need to make it."

I agreed that I needed to make a drum and we made plans to come together again and make drums.

The process of creation is really pretty amazing, when you remove your ego from it.

At first, I was frustrated. I thought this would be super quick and we would just start when I showed up. Not exactly.

We had to collect all of the supplies first, then get the space set up, and get the skins in the water! Can't string a rolled up and crusty hide onto a frame, you have to hydrate it and make it pliable to work with.

Put that damn ego down and help! This is part of the process.

It turned out to be an amazing time of connection because it was not the way I imagined it being. How about that?

We took it slow, I helped wherever I could and just enjoyed the time together. We shared stories and laughed.

And more importantly, my grandma was inspired!

She gathered what she needed to begin the process of making her mother drum - a 3 feet in diameter drum frame made by my grandfather 19 years ago and buffalo skin purchased 24 years ago.

It was finally time to bring this to life. It has been a desire for her for a very long time.

This trip was far more than just me making my own drum!

We worked through frustration of stops and starts, disappointments of slow going, not having a solid plan on how to, and desiring to do more than what actually was done.

Several times I had to check myself and default to spirit and my grandmother on what to do next. This was a creation of a tool for me to use in my work and I needed to by guided through it as I will guide others by using it.

This drum is full of heart energy and the connection of the heart to Mother Earth and the Celestial realms.

This drum is small but mighty - just like me!

I am absolutely in love with this extension of the work I am here to do.
