Facing Fear.
Fear is something the body feels. It can be instinctual for safety, it can be mental from the stories that are playing on repeat, it can be the environment that we surround ourselves with, etc. It is everywhere.
Facing fear is something I have done over and over and over again. I used to want to be fearless, but that just isn't me. I have fear. It's part of this journey I am on and I see the value in having the courage to face fear straight on and step through it anyway. I know that I my soul is pushing me to bigger things, yet my body is scared, so how do I manage this duality?
This is how I do it.
Step 1: Close my eyes.
Step 2: Place my left hand over my heart.
Step 3: Place my right hand over my naval.
Step 4: Breathe.
Step 5: Repeat "I am SAFE. I am SAFE. I am SAFE."
...for as long as it takes.
This simple practice reconnects to the heart center or heart chakra. This allows me to move from my head back into my heart. Fear doesn't live in the heart and I desire to lead a heart-centered, heart-led life.
This reprograms the body to feel safe again. This rebuilds trust internally and allows me to listen to my body.
The question is "What is the fear trying to tell me?" Once I understand where it is coming from and what message it is bringing, I can step into managing the fear from a place of empowerment.
Fear is separation, where the heart is connection and love.
This practice allows me to get centered and take the next step with confidence.
Just Write: What do you do to manage the fear that you are facing when it starts to take over?
